Amanda Bullen
Executive Director
Founded by Amanda Bullen in 2005, the NoDa School of Arts harnesses Ms. Bullen’s expertise in the fields of youth development, integrative arts education, and the performing arts. For over twelve years, Ms. Bullen has been dedicated to underserved urban youth as a teacher at a creative arts magnet school, as an after school program director, and as the founder and director of two children’s choirs and an arts-focused summer camp. Recognizing the need for high quality programming for urban youth in Charlotte, Ms. Bullen and a cadre of community collaborators founded the NoDa School of Arts in 2005. She has served as the Executive Director since its inception.


Jessica Figley

Assistant Director
Jessica Figley started her duties as the Assistant Director in late 2007. She is a 2005 graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Interior Design. Her duites with the NoDa School of Arts include design and marketing, fund raising, public relations, and production.

 




Kellie BrownKellie Brown

Mrs. Brown is joining the Noda School of Arts for her fouth year as Director and Theatre Instructor.  She received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Theatre with emphasis in Broadcast Television from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA in 1995.  She has performed in Raisin in the Sun, Fiddler on the Roof and written several one act plays.

 

 

Heather Collingscollings
Heather Collings is proud to be a part of the NoDa School of Arts for the first time.  She has a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Queens University of Charlotte.  When she’s not doing theatre or tutoring at CPCC, she can be found at the East Blvd. Starbucks.





Sonya Gable-Wilson

Wilson
Sonya Gable-Wilson has a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance and Piano Performance and a Doctorate in Vocal Performance and Music History.   Dr.  Gable Wilson has performed all over in various concert halls and in both opera and musical theatre productions.  She has held teaching positions at the University of Florida, Mississippi State University, and Lake City Community College.   Presently, Dr. Gable-Wilson teaches in the music department at UNC – Charlotte, maintains a private voice and piano studio, and is the musical director for various theater productions around Charlotte.



Litina Egun-gun

LitnaLitina Egun-gun was born Lloyd B. Josephs on August 25, 1954 in Kingston, Jamaica. There, he attended and completed high school and attended West Indies College in Mandeville, Jamaica before migrating to the U.S. in 1978. He settled in New York and enrolled in the School of Visual Arts where he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1988.  Litina’s fascination with his own culture and heritage inspired him to research and study the ‘symbology’ of African culture. This encouraged him to incorporate these symbols into all his creative works in visual and performance art.  Litina’s most recent works can be experienced at Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago, Ill. “Crowning Glory,” Disney World’s safari exhibition in Orlando, Florida, Artgroupie Gallery, Harlem, New York, And Brother 2 Brother, Charlotte, N.C.


Cherise Hill

HillMrs. Hill received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Dance Education from New York University. She has six years’ experience as a dance instructor in the public school system in Charlotte and New York.  In Charlotte she continues to teach dance at Wilson Middle School.  She has performed with the Charles Moore Dance Theatre in NY and the Beckles Dancing Company in Dallas, TX.  This is her fourth year with the NoDa School of Arts.
